Greenfields is a family owned nursery based close to Rawtenstall town centre. We are an Ofsted registered provision offering care to children from three months to five years of age in the Nursery and up to eleven years of age in the Out of School Club.
In the nursery, full time and part time places are offered for a minimum of two sessions, i.e. one full day, or two half days. Greenfields also runs a Holiday Club.
Our aim is to provide a safe, warm, loving environment for your child, without losing that 'touch of home'.
Our staff, many of whom are parents themselves, are carefully chosen for their qualifications, abilities and experience of working with children. Within the nursery we provide lots of valuable play experiences to develop and expand physical, social, intellectual and emotional skills.
The staff at Greenfields are well informed and continuously update their training to provide the children with the best start to prepare them for school. Every child within the nursery will be allocated a keyworker and have a personal development file to record their progress. Development files are available for inspection by parents/carers at any time.
Parents and carers are welcome to come in and meet our excellent staff who will be happy to answer all your questions. The nursery operates an ‘Open Door’ policy which means visitors are welcome at any time and no appointment is necessary.
Meals & Hygiene
Children eat healthy, well-balanced, home-cooked meals and staff are very aware of the dietary requirements of all children. Children from the pre-school and holiday club go shopping regularly for ingredients or snack items, such as fruit.
The nursery actively encourage good dental hygiene practices and follow the 'smile for life' programme. They recommend a dentist and give children their own dental pack when they start the nursery so they develop a strong focus on oral hygiene.
Inclusion/Equal Opportunities/Special Educational Needs
Greenfields nursery is committed to the inclusion of all children. It is our belief that children have the right to be cared for and educated to develop to their full potential through positive experiences, to enable them to share opportunities and experiences and develop and learn from each other. We provide a positive and welcoming environment where children are supported according to their individual needs. We have close links with the local authorities and other professionals so that together we can work with parents/carers to overcome any obstacles a child may face.
The nursery has an Inclusion/Equal Opportunities/Special Educational Needs Policy in force which is regularly updated.
- "Children explore and become engaged in their own learning because staff plan a vibrant and exciting environment and provide good resources which children use well to extend their play."
- "Children's good health is promoted effectively through the clear hygiene routines implemented and through regular access to the outdoor area. This supports children successfully in developing an active and healthy lifestyle."
- "Managers ensure safeguarding is given high priority and that staff have a secure knowledge and understanding of their role. Therefore, all children are kept safe and protected."
- "Partnership with parents are good. They are invited to parents evenings which means they are involved in identifying and planning for the next steps in their child's learning and development."
